The SMART Team completed the archive and purge of FY 2011 transaction data over the past 2 weekends.
This process resulted in the removal of over 160,000 supplier records from SMART. These are supplier records that had not been used since 06/30/2011.
If you need to use a Supplier ID, and it is no longer in SMART, this will be treated as a new supplier.
Please validate that the supplier does not already exist in SMART by entering the TIN in the ‘Withholding Tax ID’ field of the Review Suppliers page. The How to Check for an Existing Supplier job aid contains instructions for this step.
You will also need to obtain a W-9 from the supplier, and this will be used to TIN Match the information with the IRS.
