In an effort to eliminate the agency approval of deposits that will not be met with bank funds, and to create efficiency in the deposit reconciliation process, the State Treasurer’s Office (STO) will be returning deposits to agency that have been agency approved for more than 30 days without corresponding bank receipts beginning November 1st.
Additionally, the STO reminds agencies that in the matter of fiscal responsibility, agencies should make every effort to enter and agency approve their SMART deposits within one (1) business day of receiving notification from the STO that funds are received.
