SMART Checks Printed July 25, 2023

We have been notified that a small number of the SMART checks printed with an issue date of July 25, 2023, in the series 2006170343 to 2006171064, may have been printed twice and mailed out to agencies or suppliers (depending on the handling code on each voucher).  If your agency is contacted by a supplier who has received two checks with the same check number, please advise them to destroy one of those.  Only one check will be honored by our bank.  If your agency received a set of duplicate checks, you should also destroy one of those before sending on to the supplier.  Any questions about this issue can be directed via email to Laura Hiatt with the State Treasurer’s Office at 785-296-4144 or Laura@treasurer.ks.gov.
