Westar and KCPL are now Evergy – Supplier ID updates and Account Numbers on Vouchers

With the recent merger of Westar Energy and KCPL, the new entity is known as Evergy.

Changes are required to the Supplier records in SMART for both entities:

XXXXXX6012 – Westar Energy
XXXXXX8617 - KCPL

The SMART Team is working with Evergy to make the necessary updates to these SMART supplier records, including new W-9s and other necessary forms.  Changes may include the Supplier Name, Addresses, and the Payment/Alternate Names on each address. 

Remember to enter your account number in the Invoice No field on the voucher with no spaces, dashes or other punctuation.  This will allow payments to be quickly and accurately posted to the correct utility account. The Payment Message field should be used for other information, such as billing period.

Another blast will be sent when the address updates are complete.  At that time, agencies should review Purchase Orders for these entities and process change orders on POs to reflect any revised addresses.
